A former NDC deputy propaganda aspirant and a member of the government communication team, Peter Boamah Otukunor has called on former President J.J Rawlings to be wary of Herbert Mensah, an NPP member and a leading member of his wife’s campaign team.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Democrat, he urged the Rawlingses to be careful about the Herbert Mensah’s closeness with the family because he is a pretender who is out to disgrace and destroy the NDC and Rawlingses as a revenge for his father’s financial suffering under PNDC regime.
He noted that, his strategy was perfected through his close association with one of Rawlings daughters of which he is now their in-law and therefore, winning their confidence to conceal his real motive of paying back for his father’s economic woe. Mr. Boamah Otukunor, therefore called on the Rawlingses not to give Herbert Mensah any opportunity to continue to perpetuate his ill-conceived motive to do more damage to him and the party.
According to Boamah Otukunor, it is clear from Herbert’s utterances against the party and President Mills that he has nothing good to offer the party but only to destroy it. The allegation that President John Atta Mills is putting together a whopping sum of GH˘90 million for his campaign to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a calculated attempt to accuse the president of using state funds for his political ambition while developmental projects are abandoned. This falsehood, according to Otukunor, is a platform Herbert is creating for his party, NPP to use during President Mills/Nana Addo contest.Herbert Mensah has categorically stated that he is not a member of NDC and has nothing to lose if the party is defeated by NPP in the 2012 general elections.
He asked the Rawlingses not to be deceived by his initiatives to source funds for Nana Konadu’s campaign because he wants to have access to their political financiers and leak the information to the party’s political opponents. According to him, if indeed, Herbert Mensah means good for the Rawlingses, he should tell the whole world how much money he has raised for the Nana Konadu campaign.
