A Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has sarcastically stated that he finds it hard to comprehend why the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not in seventh heaven over the NDCs inability to complete projects they (NPP) initially kicked against.
According to him, God is probably granting them (NPP) their wish since the minority NPP vehemently opposed most of the developmental initiatives that the NDC had earmarked to do. He however slammed the NPP for failing to complete a single housing unit in their eight year rule.
οΏ½οΏ½There are two things I find very interesting about the NPPοΏ½s loud noisesοΏ½these are projects that the NPP vehemently opposedοΏ½they said they didnοΏ½t want to see these projects. So if we are in September and you havenοΏ½t seen these projects, shouldnοΏ½t you be happy? I canοΏ½t understand itοΏ½may be God is granting you your wish; your prayer is being answeredοΏ½you are worried you are not seeing it. Jesus Christ; I canοΏ½t believe it. οΏ½if there is any political tradition in this world which should be telling us that houses are not completed in a month, they should be the NPP because it is the NPP that stayed in power for 8 year; they are the only political party that will go down in history as not being completed a single housing project; not even one was completed,οΏ½ he said.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Radio GoldοΏ½s Alhaji and Alhaji programme, Okudzeto Ablakwa opined that compared to ex-president KufuorοΏ½s NPP led administration, the Mills-led government has performed tremendously well, and enumerated some projects undertaken by the NDC to buttress his point. He berated the NPP for jumping to the conclusion that President MillsοΏ½ promise of an Action Year (2011) has failed, and emphatically stated that at no point did the government promise to complete all of its projects in 2011.
οΏ½We are living in very interesting timesοΏ½2011 has three months to go, why this indecent haste? The conclusion that is being drawn by the NPP that Action Year 2011 has failedοΏ½come and explain why weοΏ½ve failed. Meanwhile, the year is not even overοΏ½and they are demanding answers from the NDCοΏ½it is important to stress that nobody including President or any member of the government said that all of these projects will be completed in 2011,οΏ½ he stated.
