Mr Ben Atieku, Regent of Vume-Kpoviadzi in the North-Tongu District, has cautioned politicians who spurn the people in-between elections, to expect the same treatment when they seek the people�s votes.
He said: �I want to draw your attention to the feeling of the people. Let there be equity in the sharing of facilities. You (politicians) have the power to bring develop and the people have the power of the thumb.�
Mr Atieku said these after the Assembly has presented 10 computers to the District Assembly cluster of basic schools in Kpoviadzi.
The District Assembly has distributed computers to some schools in the district, to support the studying of Information Communication Technology.
Mr Atieku said Kpoviadzi lagged behind in development and called on Government to change the situation.
He said though the people of Kpoviadzi had constructed their own schools and clinic with the support of World Vision International, a non-government organization, personnel have not been posted to these facilities.
�We on previous occasions drew government�s attention to a lot of issues that needed to be tackled to improve the lot of our people. However, most of these requests do not get the necessary attention,� Mr Atieku said.
Alhaji Bubey Dzinadu, North-Tongu District Chief Executive, promised to visit Kpoviadzi frequently to identify at first hand problems of the people.
