The Member of Parliament for Ketu-South in the Volta region, Albert Ziga has said a win for the Deputy minster of Finance, Fiifi Kwetey in the upcoming primaries, will be a problem for the constituency.
Later on today, the 26th of May, six persons including Kwetey will contesting to unseat the Ketu-South MP.
Speaking on Citi Eye Witness News, Mr. Ziga however says the deputy ministers move to contest in the primaries while still at post is unconstitutional and will not go down well with people of Ketu.
It seems he has been given a higher backing by government because over the years no public servant can contest in the primaries while still at post, he said.
He accused the deputy finance minister of using government machinery to influence the elections.
Since 3oclock, he[Kwetey], soome of the deputy minsters as well as his close friends are running around in this town, he accused.
They have camped the delegates in a house and are refusing anyone to speak to them. But he can never win the elections;that will be a problem for some of us.
Hon. Ziga, however stated that he did not feel threatened by any of his contenders.
