Some political parties have been expressing mixed opinions on the maiden address by President Mahama at the UN General Assembly Wednesday.
The President among other things assured that Ghana will not allow itself to be used to destabilize its neighbors.
He also indicated his governments commitment to ensure free and transparent elections in the impending parliamentary and presidential polls.
Reacting to the address a member of the NPPs communications team, Mike Oquaye Jnr. said though the Presidents address was generally good, there was nothing unprecedented about it.
Since Kwame Nkrumahs days Ghana has never been used to launch any attack anyway so if he is confirming what has never happened before in Ghana then this speech is not unprecedented Mr. Ocquaye said.
The CPP however believes that the President could have spared some time to discuss the killing of former Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi.
Deputy communications Director for the CPP, Ernesto Yeboah said Ghana should have been the leader on the continent and condemned the dastardly and ruthless killing of Muammar Gaddafi.
But the ruling NDC has hailed the address describing it as a spectacular delivery.
A member of the NDC communications team, Felix Ofosu Kwakye said the President couldnt have done any better.
According to him, the Presidents speech is one of the best that has been delivered by any Ghanaian leader at the UN General Assembly.
