Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Awuku have accused a section of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of trying to delay proceedings at the Supreme Court by filing various applications, requesting to join the NPP election petition.
According to the 'The New Statesman' newspaper, the NDC has filed 9 separate joinder applications at the Supreme Court to be joined in the case challenging the validity of the December 2012 elections.
Speaking as a panellist on Peace FMs morning show Kokrokoo with host Kwami Sefa-Kayi, the NPP kingpin described the act as a grand scheme by the NDC to delay the case being heard at the Supreme Court.
On the dark side of everyone, about 50 people have filed separate Joinder Applications at the Supreme Court. There is a deliberate strategy to delay the court process: 50 people with 9 different applications. It is in the interest of the country for the case to be dispensed quickly, for everyone to knoe their fate and then we can move on as a people... he said.
