A member of the main opposition New Patriotic Partys Communication team, Hopeson Adoryeh has admitted threatening to decapitate supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress if the Supreme Court affirms President John Mahamas election.
Mr. Adoryeh has been penned down by the Supreme Court for possible criminal contempt over his comments.
The nine-member Bench hearing the election petition case took judicial notice of the comments yesterday following a publication by the Daily Post Newspaper.
Hopeson Adoryeh on XYZ Breakfast Show on Tuesday July 9 said he is ready to apologise for the comment if summoned by the Court but however clarifies that he made the statement prior to the Courts final warning against contemptuous comments.
He also insists his comments, which he describes as unpalatable, were in reaction to a provocative comment by a member of the governing NDCs communication team Gabby Assumeng.
According to Mr. Adoryeh, Gabby Assumeng had threatened civil war if the Court reverses the results of the 2012 elections and so he (Hopeson Adoryeh) answered to that comment in equal measure.
He said he will definitely mention Gabby Assumengs name in the Supreme Court if he is summoned over the matter.
