The Convention Peoples Party will soon undertake biometric registration of its members to give the party accurate data on it followers across the country.
The Chairperson of party, Samia Yaba Nkrumah disclosed this at the National Executive Council meeting in Tamale on Saturday.
The meeting is in line with article 76 of the partys constitution which among other things mandates the party to have such a meeting annually.
According to Samia Nkrumah, the party needs serious reforms and a committed leadership to ensure electoral victory come 2016. She stated that, she is willing to resign, if the party fails to undertake such reforms to make it more attractive to Ghanaians.
She noted that, the nation is currently suffering from the effects of a visionless leadership and needs a more focused leadership to redeem itself from poverty, dependency syndrome and a reawakening of the spirit of Pan-Africanism.
She was emphatic that, the CPP cannot merge with the ruling National Democratic Congress or any other party except the PNC and other parties that follow the principles of scientific socialism.
Some of the issues discussed at the meeting include the partys scheduled congress in December, the election of ward, local level executives and the possible merger of the CPP and PNC.
The party is also considering electing its flag bearer early enough to allow for adequate time to market the candidate.
