The ruling National Democratic Congress has been given the green light to go ahead with its National Delegates Congress following a withdrawal of a law suit against them.
A National Organizer aspirant of the party Emmanuel Didiyie Aboagye was seeking an injunction on the partys National Delegates Congress which will be held on 20th December, 2014.
Didiyie who is also a Member of Parliament(MP) for Afram Plains North, filed a law suit against the party, after the General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketiah announced a decision by the partys Electoral Committee to drop him from the race.
According to Aboagye Didieyie, he was unjustifiably disqualified by the partys Vetting Committee and sought the court to restrain the party from holding its congress until the issue is resolved.
However, Agya Kwabena PEACE FM correspondent has reported that Didieye has withdrawn the case.
According to this reporter, Didieye withdrew the case "based on his love" for the party; as well as his aim of maintaining peace and unity.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports also indicate that Didieye has thrown his support behind Mr Kofi Adams who is one of the aspirants contesting for the position of the National Organiser.
