National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency chairman for Ekumfi in the Central Region, Ekow Essilfie Buckman, has been suspended indefinitely for allegedly disrespecting party members.
The suspension is based on Article 40 Clause 1 of the NDC constitution, according to the deputy communication officer for Ekumfi, Raymond Armah Mall.
He disclosed that during a meeting between the chairman and some polling station executives, Mr Buckman said he could not work with ‘uneducated people’ in the constituency.
The comment, according to Mr Raymond Armah Mall, infuriated party members who called for his immediate removal.
He said the members were very angry at Mr Buckman’s outburst.
Mr Armah Mall said the constituency executives had no other option than to suspend him and forward the matter to the disciplinary committee for further action.
