Some supporters of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Chairman, Paul Afoko, have clashed with the “Invisible Forces,” a security group guarding the party’s headquarters.
The Afoko supporters numbering over 20 stormed the party’s headquarters around 12pm on Thursday to protest against attempts to remove the National Chairman.
Citi News’ Franklin Badu Jnr. reported that the Afoko supporters came to the head office chanting and singing songs in support of Paul Afoko.
“They were saying that chairman Afoko should remain the chairman of the party.”
But unknown to them, the Invisible Forces at the headquarters who were armed with clubs, stones and horse whips chased them away.
According to Franklin Badu, “it was a brief commotion.”
Two persons were injured during the scuffle but about 15 police officers are presently at the headquarters to maintain law and order.
There were no national executives present during the incident.
