Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has been urged not to seek re-election, after she told Accra-based radio station, Adom FM that she sometimes begs for money to feed her family due to the financial challenges arising from her obligations to her party and constituents.
She was speaking on alleged monetization within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which she said could be very detrimental to the party in future elections.
In his Daily Graphic column Saturday, however, Mr Frankie Asare-Donkoh, a Political Scientist and Media and Communication Expert, described Mrs Owusu-Ekuful’s remark as disgraceful.
According to him, if the MP was struggling to support her family, she should abandon her bid to seek a second-term in parliament.
“This is disgraceful, and my advice to her is that she must not seek re-election. Simple,” he said.
