National Communication team member of the opposition New Patriotic Party [NPP] Jennifer Queen has said the elephant fraternity will not seek clarification in the apex court after elections 2016 again.
Her reasons are that, the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC] has now demonstrated that elections can be won through violence – thus, obeying the rules - “of the game [election proceedings] is ineffectual”.
Jennifer Queen made this assertion after the ruling party on Tuesday, reclaimed the Talensi seat from the NPP in a tensed contest that was characterized with pockets of violence, alleged rigging, votes buying and chaos.
Blaming the NDC for all the happenings in the Talensi by-elections, the NPP’s communicator opined that the party has the leeway to challenge the elctions but – “We [NPP] won’t do that again and we are not ready for that in 2016”
Speaking on NeatFM's morning show Ghana Montie Jennifer Queen stressed – “NPP will not go to court in 2016. Whatever led to our court action in the 2012 elections, NPP we are not ready for that – nobody is going to court because, we are going to be vigilant just as the Supreme Court advised in 2012”
“…Elections are won at the polling stations – so we will fight, protect ballot boxes, win and declare at the polling station. We won’t sit-down for others to intimidate us then we head to the court – No! we won’t do that this time. Whichever way it is, we [NPP] are winning power 2016,” she told host Akwasi Aboagye.
