Mahama Salifu, the Kwahu-Mpraeso constituency chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region and other executives of the party have been granted bail today by the Mpraeso Circuit Court presided over by Her Honour Justice Mariam Saleh Sinare.

However, the executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern region, have directed that all constituency party offices in the region be closed down until the District Chief Executive for Kwahu South, Joseph Omari is removed from office.
According to the Nsawam-Adoagyiri NDC constituency Chairman, William Atta Mudji, speaking to the media on behalf of his other colleagues asked for the removal of the Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, the DCE, Joseph Omari and other incompetent DCE's in the region.
All 32 Constituency Chairmen and party faithfuls hit Mpraeso streets on Monday morning demonstrating for the removal of the Regional Minister, DCE and other incompetent DCE's in the region.
Angry executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Kwahu South/Mpraeso in the Eastern Region violently clashed with their District Chief Executive, Joseph Omare at the latter’s office on Thursday, August 6.
Peace FM's reporter Michael Akrofi reported that the Regional executives thronged the office of the DCE to inquire about the visit of the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Antwi Boasiako Sekyere to the area on Friday.
But what seems to be a mere inquiry turned violent when the DCE and the executives engaged each other in an heated exchange.
The executives accused the DCE of threatening to "shoot them" and already infuriated by the threats from Joseph Omare began to exchange words with him. In the midst of the melee, someone reportedly sprayed 'pepper' in the eyes of the visitors.
