"...Who is George? This is someone who has not contested elections before; who has never been in the political space before and I am supposed to be afraid of him?"
The Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya constituency in the Central Region, Hanna Tetteh made the above comments giving a strong indication that the opposition New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate for the constituency, George Andah; is no match for her.
Speaking to the media after winning more than 90 percent of the total votes in yesterday's election, Hanna Tetteh said: "You are talking as if he is some political heavyweight...This is someone who has not contested elections before, who has never been in the political space before and I am supposed to be afraid of him? "I am the foreign affairs Minister, I have been Minister of Trade and Industry, and I have won this seat twice, and I have won an overwhelming mandate in the primaries and I am supposed to be afraid of someone who is – even if you want to be charitable – a novice?"
The foreign Affairs Minister polled 4,162 votes while her closest contender Captain Owiredu Asuako garnered 101 votes.
This means, she will be meeting George Andah in the 2016 parliamentary elections.
