The Ashanti Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Mr. Alhassan Yakubu has appealed to Ghanaians to desist from taking Kalyppo fruit juice which has become politically tainted to polling stations during December 7 polls.
According to him, this could spark political violence which could mar the electoral processes and derail the nation’s democratic gains.
Speaking during a public sensitisation programme in Kumasi he further warned that anything with political colouration would not be entertained at the polling stations and therefore, advised against it.
Meisu Livingstone reported that Yakubu charged election stakeholders to conduct their campaigns devoid of personal attacks and innuendos which could be a recipe for disaster and chaos.
‘The political parties must educate their teeming supporters on the processes of voting and explained their manifestoes to the electorate,’ he advised.
The kalyppo fever took turns when a picture of the presidential nominee of NPP Nana Addo went viral on social media.

***barred word***!
I sometimes feel sorry for most of our leaders, is kalyppo a symbol for a political party? Some of our leaders must reason up. What is wrong with some of our institutional heads? Instead of you to educate us on what to do before, during and after the elections, listen to what you are saying. Boss if you don't have anything good to offer us please be quiet.
If NPP members send Kalypo to polling centres what will NDC send. Nothing! You see why NDC is loosing? The popularity of Kalypo is making NPP win the election. NDC, what is also making you popular?
You can arrest me, if you like. You will tell me which law prohibits drinking of kalypo at polling stations.
Instead of NCCE educating the public how to vote, see what he's talking about... Whn I'm thirsty i will drink palm oil right... #kalyppofor7th
How could drinking of a fruit juice spark political violence.? Are you guys really serious in that country.? Pathetic
so that we drink your big head when we are thirsty, ruuubbbbish
What about umbrella
So it means we cannot take our umbrellas also to the polling station on a sunny or rainy day? This does not make sense to me. Do we have to do this to ourselves because of politics?
No problem boss, no one will take it there but after Nana is declared winner u will even enjoy some with ur family
