Minister for Finance, Seth Terkper, says President John Dramani Mahama deserves every commendation for fulfilling his promise to ending the erratic power supply, popularly known as ‘dumsor’ in the country.
He said unlike previous governments that put in place ad-hoc measures to relatively manage ‘dumsor’, Ghana under President Mahama is now enjoying stable power supply to the extent that for the first time in the history of the Fourth Republic, the conduct of the elections will free from dumsor.
“Have we not resolved the ‘dumsor’ crisis? This is the first time since 2012 that we are having an election and dumsor has not been mentioned anywhere,” he noted.
Addressing a mammoth rally at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Greater Accra Region, Monday, December 5, 2016, the Finance Minister said the measures put in place by the President are long-term measures that will ensure the sustenance of the stable power supply the country is now enjoying.
