NDC MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okujeto Ablakwa has blown the cover regarding his source of information as to where monies disbursed to the minority members on the Appointments Committee which was allegedly meant to induce them came from.
Ablakwa, a former deputy Minister for Education told journalists on the sidelines of Monday sitting of the Appointments Committee that it was some NPP MP that helped them to identify the source of the money they received from the Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Mubarak-Muntaka.
“I can tell you on authority that there were some NPP MPs that helped us blow the alarm. They gave us the hint about where the money came from,” noted the calm looking Ablakwa.
When challenged to mention the names of those who helped him to identify the source of the money, he declined except to say that “when we appear before the Committee of Inquiry, those names will crop up.”
The Appointments Committee of Parliament was last Friday hit with a bribery scandal when Parliament was in the process of considering adopting the second report of the Committee.
MP for Bawku Central who blew the whistle told the public that some Minority members on the Committee were offered GH₵3,000.00 to soften their stance on the approval of Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko who had been nominated by the President to head the Ministry of Energy, an allegation the Majority members on the committee considers frivolous and lacking merit.
Minority Chief Whip, Mohammed Mubarak-Muntaka who was accused by the by his own members for disbursing the said money has since come out to deny the allegation.
Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu whose image is at the center of the controversy has also denied the allegation and called for parliamentary probe into the issue.
The denial has compelled three NDC MPs including Mahama Ayariga, Alhassan Suhuyini and Samuel Okujeto Ablakwa to petition the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye to launch full scale investigation into the alleged bribery scandal against the Appointments Committee.

Okudzeto Ablakwa A.K.A Mr Interesting time. Indeed we live in interesting time this country when you Ablakwa still gut mouth to talk. Wait till your time is up when gov't machinery is in full gear. You have a lot of questions to answer. If you know you are or were part of the CREATE,LOOT AND SHARE MANAGEMENT you better find a Hard shin guard to wear because you guys don't know what is coming from the GROUND. Okudzeto and his people Need God to lead them ( JAIL).
Only your foot soldiers, your gullible followers will. It pained them so much that Boakye Agyarko tagged John Mahama with corruption that they just have to force and make up a story to get back at him! As Madam Vim said on Newsfile, there's a power struggle going on within the ndc and it incolves Northeners vrs Northwners. They're trying very hard to undermine the leadership of Haruna Idrissu and Muntaka because Ayariga believes he should be in that position and should become the next Vice to Mahama. Not only that, Ablakwa is in the mix by default, having been promised a juicy position in the event that things should go their way. Yes Ablakwa is a non-Ewe speaking Ewe but remember his wife is a northerner! It won't work. I'm just looking at them making a$$es of themselves and misleading their followers who have no grey matter in their heads!
Kwasi Pratt said same yesterday at radio gold as okodzato is alledging that some npp mps told him they organized the bribe money on agarko's beahalf. watch out spinning propagada cabals and draw the line as the bribery scandal unfolds. God save Ghana our motherland.
There is no wisdom in this for the reason being even if the Minority on the vetting committee does not approve Agyarko's nomination, it will go to the floor of parliament for deliberation and voting. Now, what is the number of the minority compared to the majority? At the end of the day there is no way the minority could prevent Agyarko from becoming the substantive minister. So why would he want to give Bribe? IT'S A TOTAL LIE. Look at the people Okudzato is calling as witnesses; Nii Lantey and the likes. You guys are not wise because the angle with which you want to pay Agyarko back is so full of flaws.
if people like Ablakwa are running the affairs of a party , definitely the party will loose any serious election miserably , and would remain in opposition for long if they are not sacked. he who alleges must prove it, the burden of prove lies on you Ablakwa, go ahead and mention the names and stop this concert party jokes coming from your sharp teeeth, that's exactly what happens whenever you vote for a propagandist.
Otiko Djaba, you re a prophet. I love you Otiko. Your prescription for role models was excellent; Expunge babies with sharp teeth from our body politic. No names mentioned but we know them. We are seeing them. Propaganda and lies is what they feed on. You have disgraced your chief whip beyond repairs. Work on that and leave the NPP alone.
NDC bit NDC, no case. They are systematically destroying the party and I bet you, if they continue like this NDC will crawl and eventually disappear. Now, they have realised that and want to bring MPP into the fray. Okudzeto, I challenge you that,no NPP MP told you anything. From Muntaka to Osei-Wusu to NPP MP. What warped thinking and desperation to find an escape route. Nemesis would soon catch up with you, Okudzeto Ablakwa and your fellow conspirators. Repent and set yourselves free.
Oooh God have mercy on this List with sharp teeth. The majority MPs should take this allegation very serious and get to the very bottom of this matter.
you said muntaka gave you your own share so why are you now saying that you were hinted by an npp mp? this is total contradiction.
Okudzeto Ablakwa you are simply a liar...you are an MP for Christ sake please rise above this sort of behavior. what you and your cohorts are saying doesnt even tally and mind you Ghanaians are wiser than this!
