After nine hours of vetting, Appointments Committee of Parliament has unanimously approved Special Prosecutor nominee Martin Amidu in Parliament on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
First Deputy Majority Whip in Parliament and member of the Appointments Committee Matthew Nyindam said the committee after the hearing at 8 pm withing ten minutes decided to unanimously approve Martin Amidu as the first Special Prosecutor for Ghana.
In an interview, he said the question was asked that if anybody had any objections to his approval but they all decided to approve him because listening to his response at the hearing no one will have anything against him.
He further stated that, public officials who have plans of engaging in corrupt activities should rescind their decision because the law will take it due course.
The report of the committee will be expected to be presented to the house for consideration this week.
