Former President John Dramani Mahama, on Saturday, led thousands of members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to embark on a Unity Walk in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.
The crowd paraded through some of the principal streets of Kumasi. Mr. Mahama has led similar exercises in other regions including the Eastern and Northern Regions.
The exercise according to the NDC, forms part of a healing process for the party which was handed a humiliating defeat in the December 2016 general elections, losing to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Other stalwarts of the party who took part in the unity walk include former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, former Deputy Power Minister, John Jinapor, former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yamin, former Chief Executive for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Kojo Bonsu and MP for Asawase who doubles as the Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, Muntaka Mubarak.
