National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has disclosed that the party is expecting some 9,350 delegates at the Trade Fair Centre, La, for its National Delegates’ Congress.
He says over 28 delegates each from all the 275 constituencies will be attending the conference.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, he explained that other ex-officio members are expected to grace the occasion.
"Previously, we had over 3,000 delegates, but because of certain changes made in the party’s constitution, the numbers have increased. We have made adequate preparations for delegates including residential and non residential delegates," he added.
The NDC party will this weekend go to the Trade Fair to elect national executives to steer the affairs of the party towards the 2020 general elections
The opposition party has announced Saturday, November 17th, 2018 as the date for its national delegates’ congress.
The election of a new crop of national executives will set the tone for the election of a flagbearer to lead the NDC in the next general elections.
Former President Mahama, Rickets Hagan, Sylvester Mensah, Goosie Tanoh, Joshua Alabi, Alban Bagbin and Spio-Garbrah are a few people who have already declared their intentions to run the race for the flagbearership.
The party has set December 7 for the election of its flagbearer in line with the requirements of the party's constitution according to the General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
“We have taken note of our constitutional requirement to choose our Flagbearer, 24 months before the next elections and the constitution not having been amended yet, we can safely calculate our timelines from 7th December 2020, so that will bring us back to 7th of December 2018 for a choice to be made on who leads our party into the next general elections,” he said.

Which sensible being in Ghana would follow this criminal party? Only those who think of their pockets would vote for the NDC Party. Kofi Adams, who became the General Secretary for the NDC for three years, has a fleet of expensive cars and buildings. I am beginning to hate Akuffo Addo for not prosecuting these criminals and nation wreckers. A war-torn country like Rwanda is surpassing us in developments, all because of AFRC/PNDC/NDC.
Drivers of NDC officials SHOULD respect traffic regulations. On Sunday 11th November 2018 around 8.08 am, a pick-up vehicle, registration number GS 1639 - 16, branded with posters of a candidate for Chairmanship, driving from Accra to Tema lanes of the motorway, dangerously made unauthorized crossing of the median and tried to blatantly try to join the fast lane of the Tema to Accra side of the motorway. Is it GHS1 toll that cannot be paid by a the driver of a vehicle bearing the posters of former Minister?
The (P)NDC cr!m!nal gang is gathering to elect the gang leadders.....
