Most Members of Parliament on the side of the minority are suffering from the “incompetence disease”, the Ashanti regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party has said.
In a follow up to a write-up by the MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in which he spoke against Parliament's decision to construct a new chamber, Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, established that the hypocrisy being exhibited by the legislator was not only amazing but laced with the “incompetence disease” he contracted from former President Mahama.
In a post on Facebook, Mr. Ablakwa gave his reason for not supporting the idea of a new Chamber Complex for Parliament. In the said post, he noted that:
If the views of all Members of Parliament were sought, I would have suggested we used some of those resources to beef up research staff of MPs who must be paid well in order to attract good calibre and construct simple MPs offices across the country to improve interactions with constituents as we have in other jurisdictions, especially at a time most constituents say they do not get to see their MPs.
Respectfully, I do hope Mr. Speaker will take a second look at this.
According to Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, inasmuch as he respects the diverse opinions being held and shared by MPs over the construction of a new chamber for the august house, legislators from the minority side shouldn’t act like they weren’t contacted by the leadership of the house before the decision was made.
In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Chairman Wontumi noted that there were records to prove that the government of former President Mahama had pledged to construct a new parliamentary chamber for Members of Parliament when he appeared before them to deliver a State of the Nation’s address in 2013.
The above proceedings, which had been documented according to Chairman Wontumi, should have informed the legislator for North Tongu before making a statement.
In Wontumi's view Mr. Ablakwa should have made his voice heard when President Mahama stood before him to announce his intent and stop being a two-faced person.
“Ablakwa shouldn’t act like this is a new topic to him. His own boss, Mahama, appeared before him and told him he wants to build a new chamber for them. What did he say when it came up? If he was against it then and is doing same now I will urge him on. But if for political reasons, he is trying to say he never heard about it and is trying to court public sympathy then I want to say a big shame to him and the rest of his guys in the minority.”
“It was the same modus operandi Mahama used and it showed how incompetent he was as a leader. He wasn’t a man of courage. Ablakwa and some of his colleagues have been infected by the incompetence disease and the people of North Tongu must vote him out”, he said.

NDC AND HIPOCRACY
As much as Ghanaians are opposed to this project, I agree with the assertion of Chairman Wontumi 100%.
EVERYONE WILL ALWAYS ENVY PEOPLE WHO ARE BETTER AND AHEAD OF THEM. I AM GLAD THAT JOHN MAHAMA DOES NOT THINK OF THIS CARI*CATURE.
