Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has waded into the recent controversy of the case involving Gregory Afoko, brother of the former NPP National Chairman, Paul Afoko.
Gregory Afoko has been standing trial since 2015 as a suspect in the murder of Adams Mahama, late Upper East Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
A High court presided over by Justice George Baudi granted Gregory Afoko bail in March 2019 in the sum of ¢500,000 with two sureties after his lawyers applied.
However, the bail ruling was overturned by an Accra High Court presided over by Justice Merley Afua Wood.
Prior to this after the court granted Gregory Afoko bail, he was still in custody until it was overturned.
Some Civil society groups feel if indeed all the bail conditions were met by the suspect yet he was not released then there is a travesty of justice and an abuse of his rights.
OccupyGhana in a statement is seeking punishment for officers who flouted Afoko’s bail order.
Part of the statement read, “Ordinarily, we would hesitate to comment on a matter that is pending in court. But we must be concerned when there is any appearance of gross and blatant violations of the constitutional rights of a citizen.”
When the issue was tabled for discussion on Wednesday's edition of Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Kweku Baako noted that per his checks, the bail conditions were not fully met.
“Relative to the fulfillment of the bail condition, there is a gap and if you have not fulfilled the bail conditions, then what is the noise about?" he asked.

Massa wo nim nyansa sin obiaaaa. Which provision of the bail condition was not fulfilled. If you have taking nokofio to do propaganda dont worry enjoy it while it last. I hope the afoko family will not sit down for this tras to be spewed.
You are either blind or dishonest. Before a change is effected, there is always civil disobedience. What ernesto and co did was a revolution. The effect was that the chamber bogus idea was dropped. That is positive defiance. Did you read about the soldier's response to the committee investigating him? He stood his ground and was convicted, that is what we are talking about. You watch, when that soldier resigns from the military and becomes a politician I am sure even you will follow him for his bravery. As long as he did not commit felony but just spoke his mind, his conscience will always be clear despite the punishment.
For the first time, I have believed that kweku baako is indeed a weed smoker. Does he know the law more than the judge who discharged afoko? It is hard to understand some section of people who have clearly been paid with huge sums of money so even when something is white they will still struggle to say it is black. I am sure you have young children. No body wish bad for them but the evil that men do lives after them.
poor communication coming from so called senior journalist. which part of his did he fail to fulfill. let's know. what you said is empty statement which is typical of you.
For me I think that Joyfm standard has fallen flat because as a media organization simple investigations would have shown them that the man has not forfilled all his bail conditions.. Bashing everybody without cross checking their facts.. Look at what happen Last saturday on news file, Season Lawyers and an MP called Jinapo endorsing what Ernesto did in Paliament.. What happen to rule of Law.. I am really ashamed as a Ghanaian because one day we will wake up and somebody will carry gun to paliament to kill our parliamentarians becos we disagree with them. Joy FM please wake up.. We are missing Kwaku Sakyi Addo, Komla Dumor and Oppong Nkrumah..standard has fallen..Now we listen to City and Peace...
THE NDC WILL USE PROPAGANDA AND LIES TO DESTROY THIS COUNTRY. THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE LANGUISHING IN JAILS OVER FLIMSY CHARGES YET THEY ARE INTERESTED IN MAKING POLITICAL CAPITAL OUT OF THE AFOKO ISSUE WITHOUT EVEN UNDERSTANDING THE ISSUES
