Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has said that government eased the various restrictions put in place to fight COVID-19 to give an opportunity to the NPP to run its Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries.
Akufo-Addo in his tenth address to the country said Ghana is currently running phased ease of measures put in place to fight the deadly COVID-19.
As a result, religious activities have started across the country although some Churches that seem not to be ready have decided to continue with their virtual services.
But speaking in a virtual address to the citizens of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama said government did not decide to phase out the measures in fighting the deadly virus because it took consideration of the people but rather to satisfy its parochial interest.
He said the strategy of this government is to seek head immunity because they had lost the battle to contain the virus so they decided to open up the country and ease things so people could go out.
He said if a lot of people get infected of the virus, the virus will have nowhere else to go and it will disappear.
He said the country’s figures continue to go up because of the government’s approach of seeking head immunity adding that countries that have taken this strategy have recorded outrageous number of deaths and there is therefore the need to use the right strategy.
John Dramani Mahama said government needs to seek expert advise and stop dabbling in narrow political interest.
“I know that the easing and all is to create a conducive environment so that the EC can go ahead with their new register and the NIA can continue with their issuance of the Ghana card and of course so that the ruling party the NPP can hold their congress to elect their flagbearer and Parliamentary candidates," he said.

Yes Mr John Ford Incompetent nice conman why not? Definitely whether COVID-19 or not life must go on, but why don’t you sleep and doing virtual meetings? You better talk about AIRBUS AS GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 1 and stop your unnecessary accusations for I haven’t seen NDC with leadership crisis like it is before. NDC YAAMUTU NDC
Deep thinker, this is the leader we need in our time full of helpless situations. Do not listen to NPP followers, they are full of insults. NPP knew that they have lost the battle of Covid - 19
Pls leave Ghanaians alone to make their choices. Remember you do not talk for the majority of us now. Find yourself a better occupation after losing in the December polls.
this is the work of party ***barred word***-soldiers; not you!
u pardoned the montie guys who threatened to kill the CJ remember to allow them come on radio to issue more threats and insults remember? never again
Look at this Airbus bribe taker hypocrate talking n0n.sense...... You can also use this time to name your vice presidential candidate if you have one. You are talking about head immunity ... do you actually understand it? UK had over 42,000 deaths (not infections) and are also easing restrictions. Stop the dirty politics and be real.
