The Special Prosecutor, Martin A.B.K. Amidu has given an update following his investigation of corruption allegations levelled against former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Procurement Authority, Adjenim Boateng Adjei who was recently sacked by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
President Akufo-Addo has terminated the appointment of Adjenim Boateng Adjei as Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority ( PPA) following adverse findings against him by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
The Presidency in 2019 September referred conflict of interest allegations against the PPA boss to CHRAJ following an investigation by journalist Manasseh Azuri Awuni.
His dismissal follows recommendations from the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
CHRAJ understated amounts
He said CHRAJ ought to be commended for its work and report but stated that, “The only problem with the CHRAJ report is that for some reason it understates the amounts disclosed by the bank statements from the three banks accounts of Mr Adjei exhaustively reviewed by the Auditor General for this Office.”
