The Director of Local Government Services at the Office of the President, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has refuted claims that there are a thousand (1000) Presidential Staffers at the Jubilee House under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's administration.

According to him, the claim is a complete falsehood and asked the public to disregard any person peddling such untruth about the Akufo-Addo government.

"It is never true. It's false. It is complete falsehood. It's a lie. There are no 1000 presidential staffers at the Jubilee House...Not everybody that works at the Office of President is a presidential staffer. When you look at the Act that sets up the Office of the President and staffing, we have category of staff we call presidential staffers. We have technical people, executive assistants, presidential aides and so forth", he asserted.

Setting the record straight during Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show Tuesday morning, Dennis Miracles disclosed emphatically that there are only forty-five (45) Presidential Staffers at the Jubilee House.

He stressed that not everybody who works at the Office of the President is a staff member, explaining there are political appointees and public sector employees who are listed among the workers at the Jubilee House but are not designated as Presidential Staffers.

The political appointees by President Nana Addo, he revealed, are 292 in number while the public sector workers are 658.

He emphasized that public servants "are not politicians. They are not political appointees. They are not determined by the President and his government. It's pure civil servants" and they are rather people permanently stationed at the Office of the President.

He added there are some public servants currently working at the Jubilee House who worked under the erstwhile President John Agyekum Kufour government.

"This is where the difference comes in. When you receive your appointment letter, your designation as presidential staffer is indicated on it and your role is clearly spelt out in the laws that sort of sets up the Office of the President, then the President will give you a focal area or specific job description. So, someone who works at the Office of the President as an IT is not a presidential staffer. The person is an IT supporter at the Office of the President; not a presidential staffer", Dennis Miracles elucidated.
