The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed claims that the ongoing developments in Assin North are due to the upcoming by-election.
Some political pundits and indigenes of Assin North constituency have expressed their disappointment over the sudden construction of roads in the constituency by the government after the by-election was declared by the Electoral Commission (EC).
The government has been accused of trying to 'buy votes' with the 'sudden' infrastructural development in the constituency"
However, the Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Richard Ahiagbah, contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', debunked the allegation insisting the projects had started before the declaration of the by-election.
"If they were in government, will they abandon development they've already started in the constituency? It's not true that we started the projects because of the by-election..." he stated.
