Outspoken actress Lydia Forson was adjudged female personality of the year at Sunday’s Fashion Icon Awards.
She beat celebrated songstress Efya and Ghanaian-Russian heritage designer Beatrice Arthur of B’ExotiQ label to become the first Ghanaian actress to pick that award.
“Female personality of the year…Fashion Icon Awards…We did it family. Thanks for voting,” she told her fans Monday afternoon. Lydia Forson remains one of Africa’s best actresses who have not featured in a lot of productions yet are doing extremely well for themselves.
Her self-produced movie, A Letter From Adam, is currently enjoying massive patronage. The movie got three nominations for upcoming Nigeria Entertainment Awards in the categories, Best Director, Best Movie and Best Actress.
The Fashion Icon Awards is an annual event. This year’s ceremony was held at the Lifestyle Gallery, Spintex Road, Accra, on Sunday amidst rains.
Nominees for the female personality of the year category were people who had shown great sense of style and outstanding personality that influenced the general public in their various fields last year.
