Film Producers in Kumasi have vehemently debunked news buzzing around the internet that they deliberately snubbed a meeting between them and the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo.
According to our sources the Flagbearer of NPP scheduled a meeting with the industry players at Royal Larmeta Hotel in Kumasi but his invitation was turned down.
The supposed meeting was being engineered by the General Secretary of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) Mr. James Aboagye and former Public Relations Officer of the aforementioned group Mr. Socrate Sarfo.
But Speaking in an interview with Ashh Fm National Agenda on Monday 18th July, 2016 the General Secretary of FIPAG Mr. James Aboagye strongly refuted the allegation been leveled against them.
James Aboagye told host of the show Nhyiraba Odeefour Kwasi Kay that they agreed with the campaign team of Nana Addo’s and reschedule the meeting to a more convenience day. ‘’ We even attended his Business forum at Georgia Hotel in Kumasi.’’
He indicated that, the Kof -Town meeting was planned a month before Nana Addo's tour in the Ashanti Region.
Sharing his thought on the matter, a renowned Film Producer cum Director Rev. Samuel Kwasi Nyamekye of Miracle Films who also attended the workshop in Koforidua said they have no ill motive against the NPP and its Presidential Candidate.
