This year's edition of the much anticipated Gospel Music Awards Italy is scheduled for November 7 at the Viale Mazzini 39 Vicenza in Italy.
The event, dubbed “Gospel Awards Nite '09”, has won the hearts of many gospel music fans, and is expected to attract a large number of gospel musicians, stakeholders in the music and copyright sectors, among others.
The award ceremony, which is being organized by Frimprince Music Production in collaboration with City Records and Council of Pordenone in Italy, is to honour Ghanaian gospel musicians based in Ghana and Europe.
The aim of the event is to celebrate and promote the best of Ghanaian music and culture, especially Gospel music.Bernice Offei Following the success of last year's event, the organizers deemed it necessary to increase the awards categories from ten to at least sixteen, including special awards for actors and footballers who have excelled in their field of endeavour.
As it will be an annual event, the categories, according to the organizers, will be reviewed every year.Some of the categories which may be considered highly competitive include;
Best Worship Song of the Year, Best Artist of the Year, Best Song of the Year, Collaboration Song of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Discovery of the Year.
Others are New Artiste of The Year-Italy, Best Artist of The Year-Italy, Best Male Vocals, Best Artist of The Year-Europe, Most Popular Artist of The Year-Europe, Most Popular Artist of The Year-France, Best Female Artist of The Year, and Most Popular Artist of The Year.
The rest are Special Awards for Dedication and Valour, and Soccer Ambassador. Last year, awards were swept by ace gospel music capo . Watch out for the full details and the prizes attached.
