Ghana’s unassailable Rapper, Sarkodie made Ghana proud by being the only Ghanaian to perform on the MAMAs 2014 stage and the only Ghanaian artiste to win an award on the night.
The “Illuminati” Rapper went home with the MTV Africa Music Awards 2014 “Best Hip-Hop Artiste” beating other music heavy weights from the continent such as AKA (South Africa), Ice Prince (Nigeria), Khuli Chana (South Africa) and Olamide (Nigeria).
At the biggest music night on the African continent, Sarkodie lifted the coveted award at the Durban’s International Conference Centre, South Africa last Saturday June 7, with the video of his song Illuminati.
Sarkodie also graced the red carpet, presented an award and performed on the night with American recording artist, rapper, songwriter and producer, Miguel. The American and African duo put up an electrifying performed which has been largely described as one of the most memorable moments on the night.
Ghanaian Singer Efya who was a nominee also mounted the stage to present an award.
