Hip life trio, VVIP and dancehall artiste Stonebowy were advertised as part of the artistes billed to rock the stage on Mzbel’s Red Carpet that came off last Saturday February 7, 2015, but they disappointed expectant fans.
No reason was given on stage throughout the event at the National Theatre for their absence and this angered several fans who expressed their disappointments at the venue after the event and several distasteful comments have also been made by embittered fans on social media.
This has pushed Hiplife group VVIP to duly issued an apology to Mzbel, her fans and fans of the group for not showing up as promised by organisers.
VVIP who spoke to Flex On Pluzz an entertainment show hosted by Sammy Flex on Pluzz89.9fm explained their absence saying they agreed to be on the Red concert show on the 7th of Feb at the national theatre but had a last minute engagement in Tamale hence that affected their plans.
Reggie Rockstone who spoke on behalf of the trio added that the plan was to fly back to Accra after their clean-up exercise in Tamale on time for the Red Concert but as everyone knows plans do change in Ghana hence they could not meet the time.
Reggie Rockstone apologised to everyone including the VVIP fans for not showing up.
No Word From Stonebwoy Yet...
However, no official comment or statement has been made by Ghanaian Dancehall sensation Stonebowy or his management, as to why he put up a ‘no show’.
Even though the others missed the Mzbel Red Concert their presence was not missed because artistes like Trigmatic, Dobble, Edem, Mzvee, Mzbel, Paulina Oduro, AJ Nelson, Quarme Zaggy, Abena Ruthy, among others made sure patrons had a good time.
Organizers of the event – Mzbel Red Concert, Thinkers Bag Media also apologised to fans for the absence of these artistes and later added that their other engagement did not permit them to be present but they would have loved to.
