Azonto music may be what has been trending for some time now and almost every muscian wants to have a piece of it in his works, but not Scientific.
Despite being young and widely expected to join the Azonto fray, the hip hop artiste says it is probably the last thing he will do because that genre has no future.
Talking to Showbiz, he said “ very soon azonto music would be nothing to write home about and most importantly, he does not have to follow the crowd.
“Azonto music will pass away in no time so it has never dawned on me to do any song in that vein. Besides, I am the type of artiste who doesn’t do what everyone is doing rather it is important to add something unique to my own style in order to stand out,” he said.
The Liberian-born-Ghana-based artiste said as a versatile musician, there is the need to add to his kind of music and he sees dancehall as the best option.
“ I believe dancehall music has gained a lot of grounds and recognition and it’s definitely here to stay so I am just taking my versatility to the next level,” he said.
Real name Sonny Hubman, Scientific stated that he has plans to do collaborations with dancehall artistes like Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, MzVee, AK Songstress and Jupiter.
Touching on why he has been on the quiet lately, the I Like You Girl singer explained he is in the studio working on his album, Above All Odds which will be released in September this year.
“ Although the album is yet to be completed, some singles off it have been released. They are No Pain No Gain, Shawty and What’s On Your Mind”, he said.
In addition to that, he said he was also working on staging a concert in Liberia for the families who lost loved ones to the deadly Ebola disease.
“The outbreak of the Ebola disease in Liberia really had an impact on all of us because we are all one people. It was very disheartening to see people perish just like that. I know this will not bring their loved ones back but I believe it’s time to console my people. And my little contribution towards that is to stage a concert for them in Liberia,” he said.
