Public Relations Officer of Charterhouse Productions Limited, George Quaye, has described dancehall artiste, Shatta Wales decision to be part of this years edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) as a cowardice act.

Shatta Wale, some time ago cautioned organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards not to nominate him after they hauled him to court on charges of defamation.

The artiste in a series of videos accused Charterhouse of being corrupt, insulted the company and further warned them to stop denying musicians from other regions of Ghana the needed recognition; a case which is yet to be settled by the court.

I dont have any problem but this is a company that is taking Shatta Wale to court. You cant take me to court and give me food to eat; you might poison me, he had said.

Shatta Wale after his split with Bulldog stated he will be part of the awards this year.

But George Quaye has stated that although the decision lies in the hands of the board, he thinks Shatta Wale should be a man and stand by his own words because they are still in court with him and the scheme remains unchanged.

That will be a decision by the board. Im speaking for this award scheme that has recognised and appreciated legends and hardworking artistes including Shatta Wale himself. This gentleman gets up, drags it into disrepute and in another breath he says he wants to be a part of it and everybody thinks, yeah lets go, really? he queried on Daybreak Hitz with KMJ.

In my opinion, I trust my brother Shatta Wale to be one of the most vocal gentlemen in this industry to stand by the warning he issued last year. That is a man for me. The company is still in court with you There is no point for you to come back; that for me is a cowardice act. I think he should still stand by what he said. The award scheme is still everything that he said it was, George Quaye added.
