Management of Ohemaa Mercy has strongly talked against bribery claims by George Quaye, PRO for Charterhouse.
Mr. Isaac Twum-Ampofo, head of Ohemaa Mercy’s management team in an interview with Zionfelix on Radio Univers Monday said the assertion that they offer bribe for awards has disgraced all gospel musicians in the country. According to him, George Quaye’s inability to mention names of the gospel artistes who offered bribe for the awards paints all musicians in the gospel industry black in the eyes of the public.
According to him, the public will accuse all gospel musicians who have either won awards or had nominations of paying bribe to attain the achievement. The man who announced that he was speaking with anger added that gospel musicians in the country work very hard so they never expected George Quaye to make such a statement to dent their image.
Mr. Twum Ampofo asked George Quaye to mention names of the gospel musicians who gave bribe else his artiste, Ohemaa Mercy will return all the awards she has won.
"It will be good for the gentleman (George Quaye) and his outfit to come out and mention names of those who paid or attempted to pay bribe so that some of us who have our credibility at stake will not have people looking at us with four eyes.
It is very painful and disrespectful to some of us who took some awards years back. For us, if they do not come out to mention names, we have to return the plagues to them.
They have to mention names because it has affected any individual who has ever had a nomination or won an award.” the angry manager told Zionfelix.
When Zionfelix asked if they will decline their decision to return all the awards Ohemaa Mercy has won when Charterhouse announces that his artiste who is also his wife did not offer bribe for the awards she has, the boss of Unique Brand Communication said without mincing words that they will not because “that will be very selfish of us to do that.”
Ohemaa Mercy and her husband, Mr. Isaac Twum Ampofo married on October 26, 2002, at the Church of Pentecost English Assembly in Koforidua.

Here she is again. Ghanaians have not seen this great woman yet. She has always shown leadership on issues with Gospel Music. She never misses words if it comes to things that affects the industry she belong to. Happy she added her voice and she did it will such a strong statement and I salute her for this. The agenda to run down gospel music should stop now. Very soon the concern followers of gospel music will come after anyone who alleges against the industry without any proof. We are sick and tired of such statements
Whatever
Well said. We have Holy Spirit filled songs like the ones coming Rev. Esther Nyamekye but not even a recognition because she won't pay bribes or gifts. Talk about Elder Mireku. Evang Diana Asamoah just had one last year, lol.
This Vodafone or Ghana Music Awards lacks credibility. It is very TRUE that a lot of Bribes are given and taken before these awards are given . The Truth hurt but it can't hide forever. Evang Diana Asamoah once said on Music Music some years back that she was contacted to pay some money for awards. People do clean job and they don't even get nominations like it happened to Guru in some few years back. A song may be trending all over and they don't get anything. I remember when Anita Afriyie questioned her nominations she ended up having Nothing but we knew her song was the biggest in that year (Adehye Mogya). And you guys wants us to believe that the Awards are distributed freely & fairly? Look at Obrafo)'s case. IT'S FULL OF BRIBERY SCANDALS AND ONE CANNOT TAKE OUT THE GOSPEL FRATERNITY. But one cannot blame anyone because how many Gospel Musicians will do songs with the aim of spreading the Gospel? It's about money to the extent that some even takes fellow Gospel Musicians to Juju.
sincerely I was waiting for this from one of the great names in the gospel industry after Cwesi Oteng and am happy to see this. You see truth be told when we worked for Charterhouse years back in the awards people like Ohemaa even stayed away from the awards base on lack of respect for their Exercutive producers from Charterhouse.I personally remember the countless time we convinced this lady together with Diana Hopeson to ignore the producers and come for the awards and she declined. I can feel her pain if same people are making such statements. It will be painful be painful if I was in her shoes to hear anybody asserts that they pay bribes to win same awards. I think she is rite like any other artiste who is hurt by this statements. They should apologize pls
Joe or whatever your name is you have shown how immature u are. Who even care if they sell or plant it. It's a ***barred word*** statement and to think that he apologized he was on okay Fm still insisting that his assertion was very true. If he so claim it's true he should save the image of some of this artiste by coming out with the names or apologies to the gospel fraternity. Great one team Ohemaa Mercy I hope all our gospel artiste will come out strong now.... they have been disrespected for too long. This must stop now
So a whole Vodafone is also involved in this bribe saga? eish Ghana parliament, music awards, everything bribe???
Return it wai they will sell it and gain their money back kwasias3m
