It was a melancholic scene at the newsroom of Kessben FM, a private radio station in Kumasi, on Tuesday, the day the mortal remains of pop music icon, Michael Jackson, were interred in far away USA.
The hitherto joyous newsroom was suddenly thrown into a state of mourning as news editor of the station, Mr. Charles Brafo Anakwah, burst into uncontrollable tears whilst watching the memorial service of the late Michael Jackson on television with his colleagues.
All efforts by staff of the station to calm the news editor down proved futile as Mr. Brafo Anakwah who claims to be a staunch Michael Jackson fan intensified his wailing, amid the playing of a Jackson song in the background.
The top journalist’s strange behaviour affected his colleagues in the newsroom as some of them joined their boss to shed tears in mourning the 50-year-old musician regarded as the best entertainer ever to have lived on earth.
Speaking to BEATWAVES, Mr. Brafo Anakwah lamented that he has lost a friend and brother who had entertained him all his life with his scintillating music and exceptional dancing skills.
He emphatically stated that the world would never produce a musician of the caliber of Michael Jackson again, saying, “I love him so much, that is why I am wearing all black attire to express my sorrowful mood”.
