WAYNE Rooney must be fearing he's thrown 30,000 down the drain after splashing out on a hair transplant.
The talismanic striker looked as bald as ever yesterday as he signed autographs for fans in Boston, despite undergoing the expensive op earlier this summer.
Wayne who is in the US city on a pre-season tour with Man Utd proudly flaunted a thriving new mane on Twitter soon after going under the knife in June.
He wrote: "Just to confirm...I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25 why not. I'm delighted with the result."His Scouse missus tweeted: "Hiya!! Yes waynes had his hair done! His own decision not me asking him, like alot are saying!! Pleased for him and it will look great x."
The 25-year-old had two days of treatment at the exclusive Queen Anne Street Medical Centre in London before heading off on hols with wife Coleen and son Kai.
However, it now appears his newly planted follicles have failed to take, much like grass seed on patches of bare lawn.
Bowing his head as he put pen to paper, the England ace was all scalp and very little barnet as he met fans in the Massachusetts sunshine.
I just hope he kept the receipt...
