After a successful trial run, Nigerian based music/entertainment station; Soundcity Music Channel Africa is set to re-launch its services in Ghana in May via an exciting array of television entertainment programmes and events in partnership with Ghanaian TV stations - Ghana Television, GHOne Entertainment TV, and Viasat 1.
Speaking at the press conference to outline details of its rollout, CEO Soundcity Music Channel Africa in person of Mr. Tajuddeen Adepetu who is being represented by Mr. Adeniji Adedeji Daniel the Head Of Production/Supervising Producer said that in keeping with the company’s vision of securing constant growth of the African entertainment industry, it will offer the most veritable entertainment media platform offering a 360 degree approach that various brands and products will want to explore and take advantage of.

Soundcity Music Channel is on DStv 327 and will air content on select terrestrial TV stations in Ghana. In view of the outstanding growth rate of the entertainment sector in Ghana, Soundcity aims to develop, drive, and maintain business relationship with advertisers and brand custodians, looking to interact with first rate, quality entertainment content for their local market while keeping in constant and permanent touch with our target audience.”
According to Mr. Adedeji, the official launch party event will come off on the 11th and 12th of May, 2012 at the Holiday Inn and D’ Den Exel Nite Club, it will be a huge occasion that will showcase the very best of African music talent primarily from Ghana and Nigeria.
Follow up to the event will be a series of engagement activities which will include the “Soundcity Campus Storm” in ten (10) higher institutions across the country, Soundcity 10 city blast tour in ten(10) regions in Ghana, Club party, talent hunt reality show, etc.
On the broadcast side, Soundcity will air thrilling variety of entertainment programmes which will run daily on its partner television stations. Of these programmes, 60% of the content will be locally-produced, 30% will be Nigerian, and 10% foreign to satisfy the varying taste of its viewers.
The upcoming programmes will include electrifying shows like “My Music & I”, “Chat Room”, “Star Host”, “Behind The Scene”, “World Wide Music”, “Buzz”, “Soundcity Top Ten”, “Soundcity Specials” and many more that will provide the perfect mix of entertainment content for the Ghanaian market.
