The popular Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality show, which last year was known as Amplified, has been rebranded. And this time, the contestants are set to play as a pair. M-Net and series producers Endemol have revealed the name of the latest edition, announcing that the new series will be called BIG BROTHER STARGAME!
Ahead of the upcoming BBA 2012 (STARGAME), Peacefmonline.com can exclusively reveal that rapper and singer, Eazzy, formerly of Lynx Entertainment and TV Presenter PY Addo co-host of magazine program “The One Show” on Viasat 1 are the known faces going to represent Ghana at the seventh edition of Africa’s biggest reality Television show.
Reliable sources have told Peacefmonline.com that even though the names of the two did not come up in the media, they went through audition like all the others.
Due to this year’s twist of pairing contestants and a celebrity housemate (making it three housemates from every country),Peacefmonline.com investigation reveals that Eazzy will be paired with her boyfriend whiles Television Presenter PY Addo Boateng will be in the BBA as a celebrity housemate like Confidence Haugen did for Ghana last year in the “Amplified” house.
Surprising as this may seem, these are the faces and names representing Ghana as housemates on Sunday May 6, 2012 when the game begins on DSTV. Names like Rappers Wanlove Kuborlor, Kwaw Kwaw, Trigmatic, Radio Presenter KOD, singer Atumpan, Kokoveli, comedian Funny Face, actor Van Vicker among others came up during the audition period but it seems none of them made it into the house.
Even though selected housemates are required not to divulge any information whatsoever until the game begins, Eazzy’s posture and her sudden alteration of almost everything around her has given the game away. It is clearly evident that Eazzy is trying to put everything in place before she finally flies to South Africa for the reality show.
It also explains why within the past week, Eazzy severed all ties with her record label, Lynx Entertainment, from producing, managing her debut album and building her up as a brand. According to reports, the singer is now signed on to KOD’s Black Capricorn Music Label, meaning KOD is currently Eazzy’s manager and agent for her upcoming second album and will be speaking on her behalf whiles she in the BBA house.
The “Bo wonsem mame” singer is also expected to premiere the video of her first single “Gogo Wind” today Friday, April 27, 2012 at Rockstone’s Office. Eazzy has been spotted with her boyfriend Keita at several public places, driving together in town or at events she is billed to perform. The last public event the two were spotted together was at the “Rhythms on the Round way” fashion show at the Golden Tulip Hotel.
Eazzy, Keita and PY Addo Boateng are expected to fly to South Africa on Saturday April 28, 2012 to begin formalities for the highly anticipated Big Brother Africa “Stargame”.
With auditions over, season 7 of M-Net’s reality super-series Big Brother Africa has already generated excitement with fans looking forward to the May 6 return to DStv of Africa’s biggest TV show.
With contestants doubling up to enter the series in pairs this year and with a USD 300 000 prize for just one winner, the stage is set for 91 days in which human emotion, attitude and action is put to the test!
Plus, right on schedule, M-Net has also given fans a first look at the new BIG BROTHER STARGAME logo, showcasing a bold new identity for 2012 with a retro inspired yet futuristic style.
A large curved font highlights the new name in a deep red garnet color, while the iconic Big Brother eye gets a liquid platinum finish with a glittering gold mirror-ball at its centre. Adding to the logo is a glossy accented space pushing forward between the eye and the new name, perhaps hinting at a series focused on movement, progress and speed. Only time will tell….
