Peacefmonline.com chanced on this picture of popular comedian, Hiplife musician and political satirist A-Plus real name Kwame Asare Obeng, in the early 90s.
According to our investigations, he took this picture at Winnaba in Central region in the early 90s. A-Plus started as a normal hustler who came from his town to seek for greener pastures in Accra and has now become a house hold name in show business and politics in Ghana.
Kwame Asare Obeng (A-Plus) is a hiplife artiste who seems to take great interest in rapping about politics and social issues. He released an album, Freedom of Speech 1, right before the 2000 elections in Ghana.
The hit track, "Mesuro mpo na merekeka yi o" talked about how he was afraid of what he was saying and doing but he was still saying it, in the light of democracy as he lambasted politicians.
A-Plus Now.......
After this, he released similar songs in subsequent years before, during and after elections as a neutral critic, until 2008 when he revealed his support for the then ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The Hiplife musician also disclosed his intension this year to stand as Member of Parliament for Gomoa East Constituency in the December 2012 general elections. He was recently rumored to have being arrested for drug possession in America, which he later denied and blamed members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for trying to tannish his image.
He is also other popular songs of his are �Agye gon�, �Mirror Mirror�, �A Letter To Parliament�, �Two paddies�, �Zilo, Mansa�, �Asem kese�, �Igwe�, among others.
