Former Black Stars player Nii Odartey Lamptey has revealed that his decision to marry Gloria caused him a great deal of family problems because his parents were against her.

The circumstances under which Nii Odartey met his wife, has become topical since he told Neat FM that three of the five children his wife gave birth to during their 20-year marriage were fathered by another man.

The footballer, in a previous interview with this paper explained how he met Gloria and gave a brief insight about her: I met Gloria in 1994 when I was playing for PSV.

It brought a whole lot of family problems. My former Team Kalum Stars wanted me to marry a different.

They started to do all sorts of things against me. Nii Odartey said because of Gloria he has been through hell: You know this African electronics. I have been through so many problems. My parents too were also against her. They were thinking she was only coming to enjoy my money. I have been through hell.

I lost my first boy, Diego, and also lost my daughter, Lisa. I have been through hell. He gave an insight into who the woman is: Her name is Gloria. She comes from a rich background and the father, Christian Kofi was one of Kwame Nkrumahs right hand men.

She once contested Miss Ghana. People did not want me to marry her. When my mother died people said I was not taking care of her and that I had killed her because of my wife.

I know I did my best for my parents. I bought a house and a car for my mother and gave her all she needed. Odartey Lamptey and Gloria actually had five children; at least that was what the world was made to believe.

However, two of the children died. And it is the remaining three who have been medically proven as not belonging to Odartey Lamptey, thereby, raising doubts about the paternity of the deceased two.

The former footballer revealed last week that a DNA test conducted on the children to establish their paternity revealed that he did not father even one of them.

All three belongs to another man; a man unknown to him. Impliedly, the wife cheated on him.
