Peacefmonline.com can confidently confirm that Broadcaster and Television host Dzifa Affainie (Formerly as known as Dzifa Smith) of E-TV Ghana, has quit her role as the host of the station's "The Late Night Celebrity" show after three years.
After several speculations in the media about leaving eTV, Dzifa confirmed the information in an exclusive interview with Peacefmonline.com. “Yes it is true. I am no more with eTV. I have been with the station for about three years now and I think it is time to move on and do my own thing”.
She said she left on a very positive note without any bad blood between her and her former employers. “I have no problem with e-TV it is just time for me to move on”.
Dzifa revealed that her resignation took effect from January 31 2014, adding that she has being working for people for most part of her past life and she believes it is time to explore her own opportunities.
She also disclosed to Peacefmonline.com that she will be hosting a self-titled show “Unplugged with Dzifa” which is more likely to be aired on DSTV but she couldn't specify the particular channel.
The highly anticipated TV programme will be a collaborated production with J.O.T Agyeman who is also a former employee of eTV and Dzifa for her own production company. Both J.O.T Agyeman and Dzifa Affaine are tight-lipped on what the format of the show would be and when it starts airing.
However, Peacefmonline.com gathers that it will be a talk show which will interview very influential and well known personalities from diverse endeavors across the African continent. The program will bring out hard core firsthand information about these individuals that has never been heard anywhere before.
Her first time on National TV was in 1985 on Toddlers Time on GTV. While a student at St Mary's Girls Sch (Accra), she hosted TEENBEAT for 2years from 1996-98. She did radio (Top Radio) from 2001 to 2003. In 2002, Dzifa’s life in the real TV world began with TV Africa.
It lasted 7 years. Dzifa Smith is a former model and a very popular face on Ghana’s screen. She has served in various capacities on other radio stations. She later worked at TV Africa where she hosted the station’s award winning flagship program “Obaa Mmo” and other programs including “Day Break”. She also read the news in both English and Akan on TV Africa.
