Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo, has revealed he supports English Premiership side, Arsenal, and Accra-based Hearts of Oak.

In an interview with Allsports.com.gh Tuesday, Dumelo said the challenges currently facing Hearts of oak were temporary.

“Hearts of Oak is just going through troubling times but I believe they will resolve certain issues and bounce back.

”I feel the fans have every right to complain if things are not going their way but at the end of the day I think the 11-11-11 which is a very strong number will guide the Phobians to dominating the Ghana Football League,” he said.

The handsome actor also revealed that his car number plate was 11-11-11.

Touching on the Black Stars, Dumelo said he was staunch supporter of team, and had gone to the stadium a couple of times to watch them play live.

He named Mubarak Wakaso, Agyemang Badu, Sulley Muntari and Michael Essien as his favourite players in the team.

The movie star expressed optimism that the Black Stars will qualify from their tough Group G World Cup group, which pairs them against Portugal, Germany and USA.

He said: “I think we have a very strong chance of sailing through even though we find ourselves in a very tough group. Portugal believes they will beat us, but that’s fine if they think they can. We will draw against Portugal, beat the USA for the third time and also beat Germany 1-0 to qualify from the group. I am very confident we will sail through the group.”

Dumelo called on Ghanaians to support the Black Stars to excel in Brazil 2014. He said Ghanaians should refrain from unnecessarily crticising the team, saying: “Criticisms aren’t the solutions to problems”.

He also called for support for Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah.

“Like the saying goes every Ghanaian is a coach. What if we hadn’t qualified for the World Cup then what would have been said, so we should support the coaches’ judgment on his team selection and give the team our full backing,” he said.
