Van Vicker has his name at the centre of another controversy on popular social media website Facebook.
The actor’s image is the product of a questionable fan page which has over a million likes, making it one of the biggest fan pages for an African celebrity on Facebook.
The page, which has the name “J van Vicker“, with the description: “official page of J van Vicker – Ghanian actor” and noted for its regular updates on entertainment as well as several sentimental religious posts, is allegedly being run by Nigerian scammers with numerous endorsements of a certain “Lobatan Africa.”
Although the Facebook fan page link on Van Vicker’s website, vanvickerworld.com points to the Facebook page in question, according to reporter Kweku Sekyi, the actor could not confirm or deny its authenticity when contacted.
He only stated that he is no longer managing it. It should be noted that Van Vicker’s name has been used by internet scammers in the past forcing him to come out to warn his fans on numerous occasions to beware of the activities of fraudsters.
So who could be behind the administration of this page? Hmmm, only time will tell. So far, Bisa Kdei is the only ghanaian entertainer who has a certified fan page on Facebook.
