Peace 104.3 FM has once again emerged as the most-listened-to radio stations in the country, according to a survey conducted by Ipsos, a global market research company.
The research took account of radio listenership and reach within the first five weeks of January and Peace FM emerged tops, leading the other stations with enviable margins in four out of the five weeks.
In the second week of January, for instance, the research results illustrated in a histogram form showed that Peace FM’s share of listeners was 56 percent, Adom FM 52.8 percent, Okay FM, 35.70 and Joy FM, 31.30.
In the third, Peace led the other stations again with 56.40 percent and the trend continued in the other weeks.
The station has over the years remained consistent in having the largest chunk of listenership.
Peace FM has the corporate brand, ‘Obiara Se Eye,’ which literally means “everyone says it is good” and the station has received several awards, especially for its morning show, ‘Kokrokoo’, hosted by Kwame Sefa Kayi.
‘Kokrokoo’ won the CIMG Radio Programme of the Year Award (2004 and 2007), and the Radio and Television Programme Award (RTPA) for Best Morning Show, 2010.
Sefa Kayi also scooped the Morning Show Host of the Year (Radio) at the same RTPA. Then at the 20th Arts Critics and Reviewers Association of Ghana Awards in 2008, Sefa Kayi was adjudged the Best Male Radio Personality.
Peace FM’s drive-time programme hosted by Fiifi Banson, ‘Ekwanso Brebre’ was adjudged the CIMG Radio Programme of the Year for 2010.
