According to an email from the PR for Nadia Buari, the actress has turned down an endorsement deal worth $75,000 from French cosmetic company Avant Claire Grande.
The statement said that the endorsement contract was a bid for Avant Claire to lace into the African market with Nadia Buari as their brand ambassador because she appealed to their target market better than any other African celebrity based on their research.
The actress reportedly called off the signing at a board meeting in Paris after discovering the Claire product contained compounds of hydroquinone (a chemical used for skin whitening and bleaching).
The actress explained that she wasn't going to give up her ethics for any amount of money, citing the dangers of skin bleaching as her reasons. Avant Claire Grande is known as one of the leading skin care brands in Europe that manufactures a wide range of beauty enhancement products for women.
