Lordina Mahama, Ghana’s beautiful First Lady, who warms the President’s bed at night has shed off some significant weight in recent times, causing a noticeable physical change in her body.

The ever-smiling Lordina’s ‘new look’ has raised some eyebrows and generated talk as to what may have caused the loss of weight that has crystallised into her becoming sexier and curvier in appearance.

Lordina’s most recent public appearance was when she accompanied her husband, John Mahama, to the National Memorial Service held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra last Wednesday.

Though the event was a solemn ceremony, Lordina managed to turn a few necks her direction when she turned up proudly and confidently gliding in her new slim-look, dressed in all black mourning attire with head gear and handbag to match.

Her costume had lace sleeves which further exposed her hands and her new look got people asking questions in whispers.

The First Lady, judging by her new physical appearance, does not look ill and it is obvious she is on a weight-shedding course.

What is not clear is how exactly the First Lady shed off the weight within a short period; and questions remain unanswered as to whether she has increased her visits to the gymnasium, has changed her diet or has gone for liposuction.

It is, however, certain beyond doubt that Lordina Mahama has put on an admirable new look that has got people asking questions as to what may have caused it.

Lordina, 52, has been supportive of her husband since she became First Lady on 24th July, 2012.

In one of her earlier interviews, she told Daily Guide  she was head over heels in love with her husband and that she was not in the least perturbed that her husband was perceived as a ‘woman’s man’ because she was well-adjusted to that ‘hazardous’ life of being married to a handsome man.

“That is the hazard of being married to a handsome man. Even my friends tease me and say that I am lucky to have caught him (John Mahama) when I did, else if they had met him first, I would not have had him,” Mrs Mahama had revealed

“John was a bit wild in his more youthful days. It happened at a time we had some turbulence in our relationship and I had returned to Europe where I lived many years before we got married…But we have managed to build a stable relationship. He joined me in worshipping at the Assemblies of God Church about seven years ago and it has imbued in him a sense of confidence and made him a loving and responsible father. He is at peace with himself and God and if I were young and had to marry, I would marry him all over again,” Lordina had added.

Since she was elected the Vice President of the Organisation Of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA), the First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, has been working in collaboration with the Ghana AIDS Commission to ensure that the UNAIDS Global Plan to eliminate Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTC) of HIV is achieved by 2015.

Her non-governmental organisation, Lordina Foundation, is dedicated to orphans and the vulnerable.

Information on the NGO’s site has it that Lordina hails from Jema-Ampoma in the Nkoranza District of the Brong-Ahafo Region of Ghana and is the last of four children.

It says Lordina had her early education in Tamale at the Tishigu Anglican Primary School and her secondary education at Ghana Secondary School where she exhibited a deep passion for entrepreneurship and culinary business.

This passion naturally led her into studying for a certificate in Catering at Flair Catering Services and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). She also holds a Master of Arts in Governance and Leadership.
