Since getting pregnant and having her first biological child two years ago, speculation has not ended over who could possibly have fathered musician, Mzbels son.
And the discourse about the issue has heightened in the past few weeks after Mr Prince Kofi Amoateng, CEO of UT Bank, who has been linked to the sultry singer denied being her baby daddy in a radio interview.
Although this revelation resulted in some people branding her son Aaron a bastard, the controversial musician will not budge and has told all those interested to back off because shes not revealing any names.
In an interview with Showbiz on Tuesday, the 16 Years singer said her son is not a bastard, neither has she committed a crime by hiding the identity of the boys father.
My child is not a bastard. He has a loving father who takes good care of him and my three adopted children. Aaron cant be a bastard.
I am proud to have a son whose father takes very good care of him. I appreciate his fathers love and care for us and that man is not the UT boss.
Infact, I dont know where this thing about Mr. Amoabeng being the father of my son is coming from. I dont remember mentioning it anywhere that the UT boss is the father of my baby, a worried Mzbel added.
Mzbel said she was saddened by the fact that her young son has been the subject of public ridicule and said the boy should be spared the hate speech and name calling.
If I have sinned and not made very good choices in my life, I should be the one to carry my cross, not an innocent child whose very existence on this earth wasnt his wish. It really breaks my heart when I read and hear demeaning statements about Aaron.
According to Mzbel, issues concerning her have mostly been exaggerated in the media and so she is not surprised at the unnecessary attention the identity of her sons father has generated.
She said, I dont owe anybody an explanation on why I dont want to disclose the identity of my sons father and nobody can force me to do that. It is my private issue and would love to keep it as such.
Besides, I wont be the only one whose babys daddy is not known? she queried.
There are many young women in the spotlight in the same situation, yet nobody has bothered to ask about the identity of their childrens fathers, but mine has become an important issue for discussion. Is it because Mzbel is involved? This is what I dont understand, she lamented.
Mzbel who took time off to have her baby is gradually warming her way back into the music scene. Last February, she celebrated 10 years in music with a concert.
She has also released new songs which include Help Stop Dumsor, One More Time and Onye Ogbemi.
And from next month, the Awoso Me singer hopes to treat her fans in the corporate world to good live band performance on the last Friday of every month at the Grand Casamora Hotel in East Legon.
This is the new part of me I have discovered and I know my fans will appreciate it as well, she stated.
