Radio and television personality, Oheneyere Gifty Anti has described as ‘very sad’ claims by Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong that Electoral Commission (EC) Boss, Charlotte Osei was chosen for the position after she allegedly offered sexual favours.
The MP at a campaign rally in Kumasi alleged that, Mrs Osei got her position not by dint of hard work but through sexual favours she allegedly offered someone in high position.
His comments have since received widespread condemnation with pressure mounting on parliament to sanction the MP. And Gifty Anti commenting on this on Adom FM’s Mid-morning show, ‘Work and Happiness’ Wednesday said the comments were unfortunate.
“It’s sad that Ken Agyapong spoke against the EC Boss…,” she said.
She further encouraged the EC Boss not to allow the comments to dissuade her from her core mandate adding that the only means of purging herself is to conduct credible polls to shame her critics.
To her, the only panacea to sharp criticisms is to succeed.
“I would tell Charlotte Osei to stay focused and give Ghana clean and credible elections so no one would condemn her, she should manage her emotional intelligence and prove herself, God would vindicate her…I hope in the long run, someone would see her good works and conclude…,” she said.
