I spoke to newly married couple-Nana Ama McBrown and Maxwell Mensah yesterday, my first conversation with both of them since they tied the knot a few days ago at a private ceremony in Accra.
And excitedly, Nana Ama McBrown told me they are going to have a long honeymoon which will drive on for 3 months–another reason why they decided to spend less on the actual ceremony.
I could feel Nana Ama’s joy in her voice–even though she threatened to release a certain photo she took the last time we met in Ghana, should I write about any of our off the record conversations.
She seems more fulfilled and a little hyper on the phone while Maxwell, the new husband, was his usual calm self.
I am not a fan of big weddings and therefore I love the route the couple has taken: spend as little on the day of the marriage and spread the remaining budget on a long honeymoon of relaxation and perhaps good s*x–travelling from one place to another.
The couple were on their way to a Thai Massage house when we spoke, a clear indication that they’ve started their long honeymoon.
Nana Ama McBrown told me: “Chris, the event took only 2 hours and even that, Maxwell delayed for 10 minutes. It was beautiful and everything I wanted.”
